Thrilled that the word “ranga” has provided Australia with yet another adjective to describe our ginger friends, Anthony is no stranger to the spotlight. At age 15, Anthony took the plunge into the world of vinyl, turntables and a room full of people, and he has been one of Newcastle’s most respected and versatile DJs ever since. From playing tunes to old folk at ruby weddings, to beat mixing for pissed twenty-somethings at some of Newcastle’s finest venues, Anthony is used to catering for a wide variety of musical tastes.

Along with spinning tracks for all manner of people in a variety of settings, Anthony has also mastered the art of addressing a large crowd on a microphone – often to deliver unexpected news. From, “The bar is now closed, please make your way to the exits” to “Would you please welcome the bride and groom,” Anthony’s manner is friendly, confident and relaxed, instantly putting his crowds at ease and making them feel at home.

Other than being a bonafide Mr Music, Anthony has had a number of different occupations and continues to expand his repertoire. From pizza delivery boy, to outdoor activity instructor, nightclub manager, construction foreperson, mechanic, amateur electronics fixer-upper and Comedy Trivia host – he’s nearly done it all. In a nutshell, he could teach you how to abseil while eating a Meatosaurus, before constructing a stage from which to perform trivia. He can also repair the PA system if it dies, will put you in an arm bar if you give him any trouble, and can fix the alternator on the taxi that will take you home… all to a carefully thought out and crowd appropriate soundtrack, of course.

With a razor-sharp wit and a bank of one-liners, Comedy Trivia with Anthony is bound to be enjoyable, laid back and full of anecdotes from his intriguing adventures.
